What is a keyless gate lock?
A keyless gate lock secures a gate without a physical key. Padloq opens with your fingerprint or your phone over Bluetooth, so there is nothing to cut, copy or lose — and no keypad code to share around.
Will a keyless gate lock work outdoors in the rain?
Padloq is IP68 rated with a sealed stainless steel monoblock body, so rain, frost, mud and hose-down washing are fine. It is built for exposed field gates, yard gates and side gates.
Does it need wifi or power at the gate?
No. Padloq unlocks over Bluetooth directly from your phone, so it works on off-grid gates with no mains power, no wiring and no wifi coverage.
How long does the battery last?
Eight to twelve months of typical use per charge. It recharges over USB-C in 25–35 minutes, and you get low-battery warnings in the app well before it runs down.
What happens if the battery dies while I am at the gate?
You can top it up from any USB-C power bank and unlock immediately, and there is a physical key override supplied as a last resort.
Can I give someone temporary access to the gate?
Yes. Send a digital key from the app that expires on a date and time you choose — useful for contractors, deliveries, dog walkers, tenants or family.
Is a keyless gate lock secure enough for a farm or yard gate?
Padloq uses a hardened stainless steel shackle in a monoblock housing, so there is no exposed bolt-through weak point. Access is encrypted per device, and the app logs who opened the gate and when.
How many people can have access?
